Austin Health - Drug and Alcohol Service (ADAS)
Austin Drug & Alcohol Service (ADAS) is a psychiatrist, nurse and allied health led team that treat complex substance use disorders, opioid misuse and alcohol related issues.
Austin Health Drug & Alcohol Service (ADAS) cares for and treats people with severe substance use disorders, opioid misuse and other related issues.
Services provided at ADAS include:
- Opiate substitution therapy (Methadone and Suboxone) and other drug treatments
- Psychological counselling (individual, group and family)
- Help with social difficulties
- Either ongoing treatment or short-term stabilisation depending on the individual's needs
- Consultative services to prescribers seeking an expert opinion on how to manage those with special needs (including psychiatric, medical, social and treatment problems)
Call the mental health triage service 24-hours a day, 7 days a week for more information, assessment and referral.
Eligibility Criteria
The service is suitable for anyone:
- Living in the north or north-east of Melbourne
- Have a complicated substance use disorder such as a mental illness, a physical health problem or other problems that are making the substance use disorder difficult to treat
