The Bouverie Centre - Family Counselling

The Bouverie Centre is a state-wide provider of family-based counselling therapy, specially those experiencing mental health issues, alcohol and other drug related problems, and/or complex and traumatic circumstances. It also provides education and secondary consultation for professionals.

The Bouverie Centre is an integrated family-orientated service centre that offers clinical family therapy, academic teaching, research, workforce development and community education in the one place.

Family Counselling:
The Bouverie Centre offers Family Counselling therapy for where an adult, child or young person has a serious mental illness; including families where a parent has a mental illness, a significant alcohol and other drug related problem or has experienced traumatic event(s) or abuse including sexual and/or physical abuse/neglect. Family therapy appointments are also available for families experiencing conflict or other issues which have not improved with initial help and for same sex parented families.

Secondary Consultations:
The Bouverie Centre also offers an array of workplace training, academic courses, secondary consultation services helping professionals work with individuals and families affected by drugs and alcohol.

Bouverie provide free one-off ‘case based’ discussions (secondary consultation) and run free training events for practitioners from publicly funded mental health services in Victoria to support their work with individual families.
