The Compassionate Friends Victoria - Social Groups

The Compassionate Friends Victoria (TCFV) is dedicated to supporting grieving parents, siblings, and grandparents in the event of the death of a child.

TCFV uses lived experience to provide peer support for grieving family members. This means that whenever individuals speak to a member of TCFV’s volunteer support team, they will be speaking to a person who has common experiences.

TCFV offers a range of social groups and activities to help individuals and their family cope with grief. It is an opportunity for individuals to share as much or as little as they need, and connect with others who have experienced similar situations.

Examples of the social groups available include:

• TCF Bereaved by Suicide Social Group - held 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. Venue: Box Hill RSL 26 Nelson Road, Box Hill VIC 3128
• Bayside Social Group - held 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:45am. Venue: Public Grind, 316 Highett Road, Highett VIC 3190
• Men’s Brekkie - Bereaved men’s social breakfast, held 1st Thursday of each month at 7:30 am – 9:30 am. Venue: Wilson & Walsh Cafe 129 Maling Road, Canterbury VIC 3126
• Yarraville Social Group: held 3rd Saturday of each month at 11:00am. Venue: Mantra Cafe, 10A Campbell Street, Yarraville 3013
• Geelong Morning Tea Social Group- held 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am. Venue: Brioche Café 175 West Fyans Street, Newtown VIC 3220
• Southern Peninsula Lunchtime Social Group - held 1st Tuesday of each month at 12 noon.

This service is for individuals 18 years of age and over, who have experienced the death of a son or daughter, brother or sister, granddaughter or grandson, at any age, from any cause.

TCFV's social groups are included as part of a TCFV membership. However, new members receive a complimentary annual membership. For subsequent years, membership is $55 per annum.
