Youth Support and Advocacy Service (YSAS) Outreach Program provides drug and alcohol support for young people aged 12-21 years old in the home and in the community where they feel safe.

The Youth Support and Advocacy Service (YSAS) is one of Australia’s largest, youth-specific community service organisation. While the prime focus of YSAS remains on effective Youth Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) treatment and sector leadership, the organisation also has extensive experience in providing young people and families with services that support improved mental health and improve meaningful community participation.

Youth Support and Advocacy Service (YSAS) Outreach program provides community assistance and support for young people who have significant problems with their drug and/or alcohol use. YSAS also work with individuals involved with the justice system also having drug and/or alcohol issues.

YSAS drug and alcohol workers offers outreach support to young people within their home or within the community. The clinics run out of Gippsland, Ringwood, Bendigo, Dandenong, Frankston/Mornington Peninsula, Sunshine, and Preston.

The type of support provided from Outreach includes:

  • Assessing an individuals needs and making a support plan
  • Referrals and linkages
  • Practical support (getting Centrelink sorted, organising a doctor appointment)
  • Family support
  • Information and education
  • General counselling

YSAS also has other AOD outreach and day programs and specialised mental health programs for young people aged 12-25 years old.

This service is for young people aged 12-21 years old with alcohol and/or drug use issues and requiring community assistance.

This is a free service.
