Brain Disorders Program Austin Health

The Brain Disorders Program at the Austin aims to care for and treat people aged 16 to 65 who have more than one brain disorder.


The Brain Disorders Program at the Austin focuses on caring for and treating people aged 16 to 65 years old who have more than one brain disorder. This include people with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), mental illnesses and neurodegenerative disorders (such as Parkinson’s or motor neurone disease).

The following services are provided:
  • Community outreach service
  • Brain Disorders Unit, Mary Guthrie House, which cares for patients with severe brain injury and psychiatric disturbance
  • Step 2 Transitional Unit, for people building the skills needed to live in the community
  • BDP Neurobehaviour Clinic


This service is available for anyone aged 16 to 65 years of age.

This is a free service.
