healthAbility - Box Hill

healthAbility is a community health organisation that provides a broad range of free and confidential services to support the health and wellbeing of adults, children and their families. This includes mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drug, and dental services.

healthAbility is a leading not-for-profit organisation that provides individual services and group programs for people of all ages and abilities.

Services include general health and wellbeing, child and family health, mental health services, chronic disease management, diabetes support, oral health services and social support and prevention programs.

Mental health services include counselling support, after hours mental health nurse support, family violence counselling and access to the Steps Mental Health Program. The counselling service may support individuals who are experiencing:

  • Depression and/or anxiety
  • Feelings of low self-esteem
  • Relationship problems
  • Traumatic or stressful experiences
  • Grief and loss
  • Difficulty managing anger
  • Family violence and abusive relationships
  • Perinatal depression
  • Illness or chronic disease
  • Concerns with alcohol and other drugs

This service is available to individuals who:

  • Live or work in the Cities of Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Monash, Whitehorse and Yarra Ranges
  • Need support with their mental health or emotional well-being
  • Are unable to access or afford private mental health services (such as a private psychologist)

This is a free service for anyone that meets the eligibility criteria.
