DirectLine is a statewide confidential online and telephone service which supports people seeking alcohol and other drugs information, advice or referral to support services.
The Victorian Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is a public health strategy for increasing safe needle and syringe availability to people who inject drugs and aims to minimise the spread of blood-borne viruses such as HIV and Hepatitis B and C.
The program began in 1987 and operates through a range of different service providers, including funded NSPs, community health services, hospitals, councils, drug treatment agencies, youth organisations, and participating pharmacies.
DirectLine's online needle and syringe program finder offers an extensive list of the different types of NSP services in Victoria, including fixed sites, mobile services, disposal hotlines, outreach, and outreach foot patrols.
