Oonah Belonging Place

Oonah Belonging Place supports the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by improving access to mental health, suicide prevention, and AOD services, and re-connecting individuals to culture, land, and community.

Oonah Belonging Place is a not-for-profit Indigenous health service based in Healesville, on Wurundjeri Country. Oonah offers a range of services to support the health and wellbeing of the local Community, with the core values of respect, caring, and sharing.

Oonah aims to establish a purpose-designed ‘Belonging Place’ for the Healesville Indigenous community and supporting service providers. The place reflects the strong cultural elements of the community and focuses on improving the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members.

Oonah's programs include:

  • Community Wellbeing - lunch every second Wednesday of the month
  • Women's Business
  • Men's Business
  • Driving Safe and Deadly
  • Youth Club - runs weekly during the School terms every Wednesday 3:30pm-5:30pm
  • Elders - Elders, Aunts and Uncles Honour Wall

Oonah offers a free mental health service and outreach program that supports the social and emotional wellbeing of community members. The service is for anyone experiencing a dark journey in their lives and finding it hard to see the light. The service covers the Outer and Inner Eastern areas of Melbourne.

The service is available to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members.

Oonah Belonging Place is a free service.
