SANDS Miscarriage, Stillbirth, & Newborn Death Support - Support Groups
SANDS Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Newborn Death Support Service runs support groups for people with similar experiences to share, collaborate their stories, following the death of a baby or child.
SANDS Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Newborn Death Support Service is a volunteer-based organisation providing individualized care from one bereaved parent to another, giving them support and hope for the future, following the death of a baby or child.
SANDS offers online and face-to-face support group meetings for any bereaved parents of whom sadly, have experienced the grief of a baby dying, a baby being stillborn, dying during pregnancy or due to a medically advised termination. The support groups are a safe, welcoming space to experience support and connectedness with other bereaved parents who have experienced a similar situation.
The online support meetings are held on a monthly basis and are two hours in duration.
A volunteer parent supporter facilitates each meeting. The peer supporter, a bereaved parent, is trained in providing grief support to parents. SANDS facilitators are empathetic, non-judgemental, and are passionate about creating a warm, safe and welcoming environment for everyone, no matter the type of loss someone has experienced or how long ago it was.
Please register to attend all support groups by emailing peersupportgroups@rednose.org.au
