Satellite Connect Youth

Satellite Connect Youth is a free, online and face-to-face program for young people, aged 14—17 years, who have a parent or carer with a mental illness.

Established in 2009 in Melbourne, Satellite is a not-for-profit organisation that has evolved from over 25 years of work by many who have recognised the challenges facing families where a parent or primary caregiver has a mental illness.

Satellite Connect Youth provides opportunities for young people anywhere in Australia to be heard and the power of their experiences to be shared through a supported and positive platform.

Satellite Connect Youth is an adaptation of the Satellite Connect program but aimed at a younger age group. It is primarily a 6-week online program were young people have the opportunity to meet, interact and collaborate with others who may share similar experiences. Each week covers a different topic including self care, the power of shared experiences, experiences of mental health and stigma, and tools for the future.

This program is available to any young person, aged 14-17 years old (approx.), across Australia whose parent or primary carer has a mental illness.

This is a free service.
