The Compassionate Friends Victoria - Grief Support Helpline
The Compassionate Friends Victoria offers a 24-hour grief support helpline to support grieving parents, siblings, and grandparents in the event of the death of a child – of any age or from any cause.
The Compassionate Friends Victoria (TCFV) is a dedicated peer support organisation for grieving family members following the death of a child. TCFV provides a range of support services and activities to help individuals and their families cope with grief.
The Compassionate Friends Helpline is a 24-hour, 7 days a week grief support telephone helpline dedicated to support grieving parents, siblings, and grandparents in the event of the death of a child. Please note: this is not a crisis service.
TCFV understand the indescribable pain caused by this loss, because the support team members have each experienced the loss of a child, sibling, or grandchild. The support workers use their lived experience to provide peer support for grieving family members. This means that whenever someone speaks to a member of TCFV’s volunteer support team, they will be speaking to a person who has common experiences to them.
Eligibility Criteria
This service is for any family member that is bereaved by the death of a child in Australia.
Fees
TCFV's grief support helpline is a free service.
