Turning Point Addiction Neuropsychology Service - Richmond

Turning Point Neuropsychology Service provides a one-off neuropsychological assessment, secondary opinion and clinician training for people with significant alcohol or drug issues, and suspected cognitive impairment in Victoria.

The Neuropsychology Service is a secondary phone or face-to-face specialist consultation for health professionals seeking advice and support about their patient.

The telephone service can be used by health professionals and support works to collaboratively brainstorm and problem-solve treatment challenges where there are concerns about their patient's cognition. Face-to-face neuropsychological assessment may be offered for complex cases. This involves a patient interview (often involving their support person) and assessment of the patient’s cognitive strengths and difficulties to enable a formulation of the individualised recommendations and feedback.

This service does not accept capacity referrals (e.g. around parenting or decision-making capacity), medico-legal referrals (e.g. examining fitness to stand trial) or Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostic referrals.

This service is to support people aged 18 years and over with significant alcohol or drug issues, and suspected cognitive impairment in Victoria.

This is a free service.
