Turning Point - Diverse Pathways

Diverse Pathways provides culturally sensitive counselling and treatment pathway referrals to those with alcohol and/ or other drug issues from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds.

Diverse Pathways (formerly Reaching Out) is Turning Point’s specialist Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) service to help navigate and reduce the many barriers to treatment, experienced by culturally diverse and First Nations people living in Melbourne’s North-West.

The service can also work with family members or significant others impacted by the individual's substance use.

Services provided at Diverse Pathways include:

  • Culturally sensitive engagement
  • AOD assessment, short-term counselling and stabilisation
  • Therapeutic social work and assertive linkage to assist individuals to access meaningful treatment for their AOD and co-occurring mental health issues

The program is for:

  • People aged 18 years and older living in the North or West Metro region of Melbourne
  • Who identify as being from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse or Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander
    background
  • Are concerned about their substance use and mental health

This is a free service.
