Turning Point - Inpatient Detox and Rehabilitation

The Turning Point Addiction Medicine Unit (TPAMU) at Box Hill Hospital provides medically managed inpatient detoxification, withdrawal and short stay rehabilitation programs for individuals experiencing alcohol or other drug addictions.

Turning Point Addiction Medicine Unit (TPAMU) is a 24-hour inpatient detoxification and short stay rehabilitation program supported by a multidisciplinary medical, nursing and allied health team, overseen by senior addiction medical specialists.

1 East at Box Hill Hospital is an 8-bed unit where patients can stay for up to seven days. 1 East provides high quality medical and nursing support for patients withdrawing from alcohol and/or other drugs. 1 East also has the capacity to manage patients with a diagnosis of severe substance use disorder or dependence, whose treatment may be outside the scope of standard community residential withdrawal.

To access the program, contact the admissions team on (03) 9895 4939 between Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. Completion of either a face-to-face or telephone intake assessment plus GP referral is required.

This service is for anyone seeking detoxification from alcohol or drugs and living in Victoria.
