Wellness and Recovery Centre for Eating Disorders
The Wellness and Recovery Centre (WRC) at Monash Health is a specialist eating disorder program that offers comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment to individuals affected by eating disorders, as well as secondary consultation to assist GPs and other primary care providers.
The Monash Health Wellness and Recovery Centre (WRC) Eating Disorder Service offers comprehensive assessment and treatment to individuals affected by Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED).
The program is staffed by a specialist multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, dieticians, family therapists and social workers.
All treatment programs at WRC aim to improve physical and emotional wellbeing by normalising eating behaviour, restoring/stabilising weight and addressing unhelpful thoughts that are contributing to the eating disorder.

- Adult Outpatient Clinic at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton
- Adult Inpatient Unit at Dandenong Hospital
- Butterfly Day Program in Chadstone for individuals aged 12-24 years
Services for professionals
- Secondary Consultation for GPs, case managers, and other services managing patient's with eating disorders
- Specialist Education and Training
- Promotion and Prevention programs and strategies
Eligibility Criteria
This service is for individuals who:
- Live in the Southern Metropolitan Region of Victoria
- Present with a diagnosis, or behaviour consistent with a diagnosis of, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, or OSFED
- Have, or be willing to engage, with a GP for regular medical monitoring
